Blue

A wave built line by line up a stairwell, so that the walls read as one moving surface from the bottom step to the top.

Every line is laid by hand and blended back into the one below it. The hard part is the turn: the pattern has to carry across corners and around a flight of stairs without a visible break, so the whole drawing is set out before any paint goes on.

Close up it is clearly painted. From across the room it moves.
