Desert

Layered bands across a living room wall, masked and then blended until the joins disappear.

The wall had to recede rather than announce itself. It sits behind the seating and works as a background, so the palette stays close to the plaster it is painted on. A few crisp dark lines cut across the soft bands to stop the whole thing going vague.

Those lines are the only hard edges anywhere on the wall.
